Pediatrician
As a pediatrician, your main occupational tasks involve providing medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults. You are responsible for examining, diagnosing, and treating children with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses.


Pediatricians made an average salary of $175,400 and a median salary of $163,350.


Most pediatricians obtain a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.). However, individuals with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) may also practice general pediatrics in primary care or family practice offices. Both require four years of medical school and 3-8 years of internships and residencies.


The number of available jobs for physicians, including pediatricians, is expected to grow an average of 18 percent faster than average by the year 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics. As of 2012, there were approximately 30,890 pediatricians practicing in the United States.


I think I would love to be a pediatrician because I like helping little kids out and I think they’re adorable so if I was a pediatrician I would really enjoy my job!
